Launched on the 29th October, the Ethnicity Recording Improvement Plan sets out clear, practical actions to strengthen the completeness, consistency, and quality of ethnicity data across NHS systems. High-quality ethnicity data is essential to ensure equitable access, experiences, and outcomes for all patients, and to reduce health inequalities across ethnic groups. The plan provides a framework for Integrated Care Boards (ICBs), providers, and partners to identify gaps, improve recording processes, and use data more effectively to tackle inequalities.
To support the implementation of the plan, a webinar will be held on the 2 December 2025 2:00pm – 3:30pm.
The aims of the webinar are to:
• set out the ambitions of the Plan and our expectations of ICBs and providers
• share practical examples of improving ethnicity recording
• support organisations to reflect on how they can improve ethnicity recording
To attend, register here. Registrations close at 5pm on Monday 1 December 2025.
