Overview of the Session:
• This session explores Cultural Competence (CC) in more depth (with pairs and group exercises throughout).
• Participants will be asked to pre-read before the session and complete their self-assessment.
• Participants will be able to understand where they are in their own journey, how as DsPH/CsPH’s this could support their action plan and operating environment, and consider the council organisations in which they work.
• How the approach can support co-construction and building of trust in public health with communities of all cultures.
• It will consider how this approach can support the WRES, Integrated Care Systems (ICS) and other place-based relevant issues e.g. The Messenger Review on Health and Social Care Leadership .
• We will look models on the construction of ‘whiteness’ and the construction of different cultures.
