UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) invite you to a Cold Weather Preparedness Stakeholder webinar, taking place online on Wednesday 24th September 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00.

Webinar includes
This pre-recording and live Q&A webinar will:
• update stakeholders on changes of the Adverse Weather and Health Plan (AWHP) and signpost users to new material
• provide an overview on the current Cold Health Guidance and Weather- Health Alerting (WHA) system
• discuss the latest weather forecast for Winter 2025/2026
• share reflections on winter 2024/25, including observed public health impacts of cold weather and extreme cold
• explain how the Weather-health Alerting System (Cold-Health Alerts) and the National Severe Weather Warning Service work
• bring useful presentations to the audience on lessons identified and preparedness of the social care services and community and voluntary services
• discuss the role of local and national authorities in the implementation of the AWHP for protecting health during periods of extreme cold

The webinar will be hosted online via Microsoft Teams Live Events. Joining details will be sent after you complete your registration. The pre-recording and agenda will be sent to participants ahead of the webinar, while the live session will feature a panel discussion to explore key topics further and answer participants’ questions.

Who to attend

This webinar is aimed at public health professionals and those working in emergency planning and response roles or working with patients and the public at the NHS England, national and local government, or voluntary and community sector, as there is an ongoing need to ensure that all staff working with patients and clients are trained both to understand the public health impact of adverse weather events and know how to prepare and respond to adverse weather incidents.
