This session is open to anyone working in a relevant authority who wishes to learn more about the Provider Selection Regime (PSR) and how to implement it. Relevant authorities as defined in the National Health Service Act 2006 include NHS England, integrated care boards, NHS trusts and foundation trusts, and local or combined authorities.
In this session, the team provide an overview of the key information regarding the PSR including:
the aims and scope of the PSR
what the different provider selection processes are under the new regime, and when to apply them
key criteria overview – understanding the key criteria that must be considered when arranging healthcare services under the PSR, and how to apply these to decisions
specific elements and requirements of each process, including what must be done after a decision has been made to award a contract, and how this decision may be reviewed
modifications and urgent circumstances – the conditions that allow a contract to be modified, and how to award or modify a contract in an urgent situation
the transparency requirements and the need for robust record keeping under the PSR
transitional arrangements – how to deal with award processes that commenced, or contracts that were awarded, under the previous regime, now that the PSR is in force.
