In 2016 Sheffield City Council adopted a series of processes that would enable them to ensure that registration for Free School Meals is as high as possible. Since that time over 6,400 additional eligible children have been registered and an extra £3.8 million has been awarded in Pupil Premium funding to schools.
Sarah Cavanagh and Annabel Hallam of Sheffield City Council will be talking about their ‘Auto-Award Process’. They will provide details of the processes that they put in place, share the challenges that they faced and how they overcame them, and outline the impact that the process has had on numbers of children having Free School Meals and the additional Pupil Premium funding that Sheffield schools have been awarded as a result.
