Obesity Networks

 

ADPH London host the London Obesity Leads Network and the London Obesity Delivery Board jointly, with OHID London and implement pan-London actions. 

London Obesity Leads Network (LOLN) 

The network meets quarterly and is open to colleagues, who work on obesity at a local level. It is an opportunity to share knowledge, learn and hear about what is happening in boroughs as well as at pan London level.  

Aims of Network: 
  • ADPH London aims to support boroughs and partners to implement a whole systems approach to reducing obesity, with a focus on childhood obesity, in London.
  • Share best practice and evidence base across London
  • Allow opportunity/space for collaboration and be a vehicle for disseminating key intelligence to weight management leads pan London to support the health improvement agenda and addressing health inequalities.  
Membership:

The network is open to:

  • Directors of Public Health (DPH)
  • Consultants in Public Health (CPH)
  • Officer/ Strategist (or equivalent) level public health professionals
  • Regional programme and policy leads

Terms of Reference

London Obesity Delivery Board (LODB)

The London Obesity Delivery Board meets quarterly and is a closed group of system level colleagues from ADPH London, OHID London, NHSE, GLA and ICS/B. This group discusses London Level strategies and interventions aimed at tackling obesity. 

Aims of the Network: 
  • Have an overview of obesity related activity in London
  • Support and influence a whole systems obesity approach comprising of weight management activity and other obesity related strategies in London
  • Share and discuss best practice and evidence base across London
  • Allow opportunity/space for collaboration and be a vehicle for disseminating key intelligence to colleagues pan London to support the health improvement agenda and addressing health inequalities
