National Child Measurement Programme (NCMP) webinar – Supporting child healthy growth: A holistic approach to the NCMP
The National Child Measurement Programme (NCMP) provides an annual opportunity to engage with over a million parents about their child’s health. In planning the delivery of the NCMP, it can be helpful to position the programme within a child healthy growth framework to provide a holistic and supportive system for children and families.
The objective of the webinar is to consider:
opportunities to reframe and reposition the programme within the broader context of child health and growth and reducing health inequalities while still recognising its surveillance value and informing public health interventions
the role of NCMP in facilitating a holistic and supportive approach to children’s health
how we engage with schools and the support given to children and families to maximise participation
Colleagues from Nottinghamshire NCMP team will be giving presentations on their local strategies, including their innovative approaches to school engagement.
Academic expert, Dr Theo Lorenc, Research Fellow in Evidence Synthesis, Centre for Reviews and Dissemination, University of York, will be sharing findings from their research on the psychosocial consequences of weight monitoring in children.
