Overview of the Session:
• The session will draw on the frame of public narrative and systems leadership as a way of exploring their relevance and impact on health inequities and social justice.
• How to identify and shift narratives by starting with reflections of self, values, principles and considering those issues at a group level to enable action to identify and challenge racist narratives within public health and partners.
• Identifying where there is good understanding of the Social Determinants of health and perhaps where the epidemiology approach should have a broader lens to include both social and societal inequities and inequalities that could strengthen actions and on-going responses.
• Supporting the group to reflect and consider their current public narrative.
• How to successfully build a compelling narrative across systems with partners and communities including how to sustain that approach as an anti-racist rather than non-racist ally.
