Good sexual and reproductive health is a crucial area of public health. Access to good sexual and reproductive health services is vital to improving the health and wellbeing of both individuals and communities.
Over the last 12 years the public health has seen significant successes and innovation in sexual and reproductive health services across local government, but they also need to look at where further improvements can and must be made. They continue to see dramatic increases in syphilis and gonorrhoea diagnoses, late diagnosis of HIV, the continued spread of antibiotic-resistant sexual infections and challenges accessing contraception equitably up and down the country.
