As part of Haringey’s Gambling Harms Programme, they’ve established a cross-sector network to connect, share knowledge, and collaborate. The network includes representatives from the NHS, community and voluntary services, gambling support charities, national public health bodies, and local authority teams, and is led by Haringey Council.
In this meeting you will hear from:
Julie Martin from the Peer Aid team at Betknowmore UK on how gambling harms impact lives and the importance of peer support for people experiencing gambling harms, including affected others, and from colleague Kev Clelland, highlighting the additional training and support services available from Betknowmore UK.
Anna Fraser from the England Illegal Money Lending Team (IMLT), a specialist unit that prosecute illegal lenders whilst providing support for borrowers on the warning against the dangers of using loan sharks.
Mary Cronin from the Gambling Levy Team at the Office for Health Improvements and Disparities, discussing the Gambling Levy.
Dr Will Maimaris, the Director of Public Health at Haringey with an update on our Gambling Harms Programme.
Please reach out to Catriona MacRae if you have any questions or any access needs for a Teams format meeting.
