The London Plan: ADPH London Position Statement

The London Association of Directors of Public Health (ADPH London) welcomes the opportunity to contribute to the consultation and development of the Mayor of London’s new London Plan, due to be published in 2026, and advocates for the embedding of health supporting measures within it, to improve and protect the health of Londoners.
Our position represents the perspective of our membership and leadership team, based on public health principles, have identified key aspects of the plan that impact on population health, whilst meeting economic and housing growth in the capital, as ultimately a healthy population supports economic growth.
ADPH London urges the Mayor to ensure that health and health equity are central to the London Plan, as well as adherence to current national health policies and priorities, to deliver inclusive growth, and unlocking economic potential, enable a fairer, healthier, and more resilient city for all.
