Update to Women’s Health Strategy
Source: DHSC, date: 14 April 2026
The renewed Women’s Health Strategy outlines measures to improve women’s experiences and access to care. Plans include a trial linking women’s feedback to provider funding to support targeted service improvements and increase accountability. Gynaecological services will be streamlined through a single referral point, combined with local and digital support, to reduce waiting times and improve access to diagnosis and treatment for conditions such as endometriosis and fibroids. The strategy also commits to developing a new standard of care to ensure appropriate pain relief during invasive gynaecological procedures.
