Creativity Meets Public Health: A New Framework to Prove the Power of the Arts

The Creative Health Impact Framework is a new, practical toolkit launched during Creativity and Wellbeing Week to help London’s arts, cultural, and community organisations better demonstrate their impact on health and wellbeing to public health partners.
It’s Creativity and Wellbeing Week — and what better time to spotlight a fresh tool that’s helping London’s creative and community sectors show just how much they contribute to our city’s health? If you’ve ever struggled to evidence the impact of arts and community activities on wellbeing, you’re not alone. That’s exactly why the Creative Health Impact Framework was created — to help VCSE, arts, and cultural organisations plan, evaluate, and communicate their impact to health partners in a way that’s practical, scalable, and actually useful.
Backed by the Mayor of London and developed by London Plus in partnership with South East London ICS, this free toolkit is already being used in places like Wandsworth as part of their Borough of Culture year. It’s packed with templates, tips, and a scaled approach to evaluation — making it easier than ever to build bridges between sectors and champion the role of creativity in tackling health inequalities. Whether you’re commissioning, collaborating, or just curious, now’s the perfect time to dive in and explore how creativity can help build a healthier London for everyone.
