Following 2 years of being a Vice Chair at ADPH London, Dr Will Maimaris, DPH Haringey has been appointed Co Chair of the regional network, at the helm of our leadership team, along with Dr Nicole Klynman, DPH Bexley. Additionally, Kirsten Watters, DPH Camden and Sangeeta Leahy, DPH Southwark have been appointed as Vice Chairs.

The new team takes over from Jason Strelitz, DPH Newham and Ruth Hutt, DPH Lambeth, previously Co Chairs and Dr Catherine Mbema, DPH Lewisham as Vice Chair.  We would like to thank our outgoing team for their outstanding leadership and contribution over the past 2 years.

ADPH London’s leadership team fulfil an important role in representing London’s regional network of Directors of Public Health in forums across Local and Regional Government and in the Health and Care sector.  Some of our key partners are UKHSA London, OHID London, NHSE London, London Councils and the GLA.

At ADPH London, we are committed to ensuring DsPH have a voice and are represented on shared Public Health agendas.

Dr Will Maimaris Co Chair said:

“I’m delighted to build on my experience as Vice Chair of ADPH London through being Co Chair of the network. Being part of the Leadership team is a great opportunity to be part of conversations with senior public health and NHS peers across London on a variety of topics and to represent the voice of our DPH membership.

“Collectively London’s public health and healthcare systems partnership contribute towards positive progress in our shared ambition to promote good health across London’s diverse communities and tackle health inequalities. With the renewed focus of the new government on public health and preventative interventions, our opportunities to influence and effect meaningful change have never been greater.”

Dr Nicole Klynman, Co Chair said:

“As a DPH and a GP, I see first hand the importance of public health in improving population health and reducing the burden on our NHS. ADPH London is uniquely placed to work with our systems partners across the capital to effect change at scale in how we work together to protect and support our residents.

“I am looking forward to being part of ADPH London’s Leadership team, taking on a pan-London perspective and ensuring that the voice of my DPH colleagues across London is represented at a systems leadership level.”
