We are pleased to announce we will be hosting the second webinar in the virtual series on adversity, trauma and resilience in infants, children and young people (ICYP), in collaboration with Dr Warren Larkin (Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Managing Director, Warren Larkin Associates).

The second webinar, titled ‘Routine Enquiry About Adversity in Childhood – A Key Pillar of Trauma-Informed Care: Some key principles for implementation and dispelling the ‘Can of Worms’ Myth’, will be held on Monday 27th October (15:00-16:30).

This session will outline the cost of delayed disclosure and the barriers faced by service users in being heard and believed and the importance of routine and targeted enquiry to get service users to share their experiences to get suitable and effective help.

The webinar will cover the evidence for adverse childhood experience enquiry in UK and US and share recommendations for good practice drawn from evaluations of the REACh model.

The webinar will be chaired by Sarah Muckle (DPH Essex and ADPH Children and Young People Policy Advisory Group co-lead).

The series is open to all public health colleagues, so please do share with your teams. To register, please contact us.
