New episode of PH Spotlight

A brand new episode of our video podcast, made in collaboration with Panoramic Associates, is now available to watch, featuring Dr Lincoln Sargeant, Director of Public Health for Torbay.

Lincoln reflects on the value of curiosity, a quality he cultivated throughout his childhood after growing up without television and instead turning to reading and his imagination, which fostered a lifelong desire to learn. He shares how this mindset has been fundamental to his career in public health, enabling him to connect with communities and navigate the complexities of the wider health system, and work collaboratively to improve people’s health.

He also shares his advice for aspiring Directors of Public Health, encouraging them to remain embedded within their communities, while broadening their perspective across the wider system and partner expertise to navigate the complex challenges affecting community health and wellbeing.
