Planning for Health

Earlier this week, we hosted an event for public health and planning professionals showcasing the strategies and partnerships that are creating healthy places across the country chaired by Darrell Gale, Chair of our Healthy Places Project Advisory Board and Director of Public Health at East Sussex County Council.

During the event, we heard from a range of guest speakers. Michael Chang (NHS Property Services) opened by outlining national progress in integrating health considerations into planning decisions. He was followed by colleagues from local government who showcased local achievements, including Liverpool City Council’s journey to becoming a Marmot City, Hertfordshire County Council’s development of a safe and healthy places framework, and Southampton City Council’s work to shape their local plan.
