In the UK, the equivalent of around 30,000 deaths are estimated to be attributed to air pollution, through increased risk of diseases such as heart disease, stroke, respiratory diseases, and cancer.
Meanwhile, air pollution contributes to over 20,000 respiratory and cardiovascular hospital admissions per year.
