Recognition for ADPH members in New Year’s Honours
Four ADPH members have been recognised in the King’s 2026 New Year Honours list, which was announced in the official newspaper of the Crown, The Gazette last night.
ADPH President, Greg Fell (Director of Public Health for Sheffield) was awarded an OBE, while our Vice President, Alice Wiseman (Director of Public Health for Gateshead and Newcastle), Catherine Mbema (Director of Public Health for Lewisham) and Tim Allison (former ADPH Board member and Director of Public Health for the Highlands) were all awarded MBEs.
Nicola Close MBE, ADPH Chief Executive, said:
“I am absolutely thrilled! Health is so much more than treating ill health. Our members work tirelessly to bring together all the different professions and disciplines that can impact people’s health and wellbeing from schools to town planning, environmental health to local business and beyond so that the places we live, work and play can help everyone lead healthy, happy and productive lives for longer.
“As a membership Association, we have the privilege of working very closely with Directors of Public Health and know just how hard they work to protect and improve health and wellbeing, not only of the residents in their areas, but also of the entire nation so to see them recognised in this way is fantastic.”
