Vaccine Engagement SLI programme
We worked together with the Local Government Association to support the national NHSE Vaccination Deployment Programme for 2022.
The purpose of this initiative was to support the uptake of Covid-19 vaccination across all cohorts and populations by facilitating greater engagement between local government and the national Vaccine Deployment Programme (VDP).
By amplifying the voice and contribution of local government and Public Health, the programme aimed to build on successes seen locally such as use of community insight and intelligence, local leadership and collaborative relationships. There was a focus on understanding ‘what works and why’ and supporting innovation at local and regional level to more effectively contribute to improved uptake now, as well as informing the direction of vaccination in the future.
The programme also supported our regional networks to disseminate good practice and identify local challenges to implementation, ensuring that the lessons learnt at the local level are regularly fed back into the national system.
Leading the Programme was a National Public Health Adviser with a small team working across both the LGA and ADPH, who worked closely with the Local Government Adviser in the VDP.
The programme started in January 2022 and closed at the end of January 2023.
