Annual DPH Workshop and AGM 2021

Delegate packs | February 1, 2021

ADPH members and colleagues met online for the 2021 ADPH Workshop and Annual General Meeting on 19 May.

The session opened up with reflections from the ADPH President on this unique and challenging past year. ADPH CEO Nicola Close then presented highlights from our Annual Report Celebration, commemorating the hard work and innovation shown by public health teams, before colleagues convened for the AGM.

The Interactive Workshop in the second half of the session provided a chance to explore and discuss the role of Directors of Public Health in creating the conditions for a good childhood for all as the Government develops its ‘levelling up’ agenda.

Colleagues heard presentations from Charlotte Ramsden OBE, President of the Association of Directors of Children’s Services; Prof. Sally Holland, Children’s Commissioner for Wales; Alison Morton, Executive Director of the Institute of Health Visiting, and Wendy Burke, DPH North Tyneside. Attendees then joined discussion groups to reflect on what a good childhood looks like, opportunities within the new public health system to improve the health and wellbeing of children and young people, and the role of DsPH as local systems leaders in driving forward recovery and resilience post COVID-19.
