Membership

Membership is open and free to those with commissioning responsibility for prevention programmes and treatment services relating to healthy weight within local government.

The benefits of the membership will include:

  • Access to an online forum on Knowledge Hub for the safe sharing of resources and peer support between commissioners.
  • Invitation to three national meetings with commissioners from around the country, to discuss latest opportunities and challenges in the sector.
  • Opportunity to feed in views to policy and strategy discussions at the national level.

Governance

The steering group meets monthly to agree the direction, remit, Terms of Reference, and initial priorities of the group.

An Executive Board, led by a Chair and two Vice Chairs will be established in due course, with representation from each of the nine regions of England: East of England, East Midlands, North East, North West, London, South East, South West, West Midlands, Yorkshire and the Humber (18 members in total).  The role of the Executive will be to enable the EHWCG to deliver its objectives, terms of reference, workplan and deliverables. The term of office for the whole Board is three years and there is no limit to the number of terms members may run for.
