Our Public Health Focus
GMPHN are currently updating our priority programmes.
Areas of Focus
GMPHN has three areas of focus that we consider our priority areas for action and where we feel we can have most impact. These are:
- The Commercial Determinants of Health
- Live Well
- Greater Manchester Make Smoking History Alliance
In GM, we have a developed a squad approach to addressing our areas of focus, where there are multiple leads from across GMPHN serving each area of focus, as well as broader support from members of our Senior Public Health Leader’s Network.
Communities of Practice
In GM, we have several Communities of Practice, where established working groups come together to discuss topic areas. These bring together our GMPHN members as well as members of our Senior Public Health Leaders Network

- Sexual Health – Sexual Health Network
- 0 – 19 years – Healthy Child Group
- Intelligence – Public Health Intelligence Network
- Workforce – GM Public Health Workforce Group
- Food – GM Food Security Action Network
- Mental Health – Group being established
- Housing and Health
