 event
DESCRIPTION:Join Dr Susie Bennett\, psychologist and research fellow at the
  University of Glasgow\, whose work focuses specifically on male suicide r
 isk and recovery factors.\n\nOn 22 November\, Dr Bennett will host a speci
 al knowledge-sharing event at the Foundry in Vauxhall to share key finding
 s from her work\, and is extending an invitation to anyone who might find 
 it valuable to attend. The event will also be live-streamed for anyone who
  can't come in person.\n\nDate: Friday\, November 22\, 2024\n\nTime: 10:15

 l Pressures: How do societal expectations heighten some men’s loneliness
 \, feelings of failure and emotional suppression?\n 	Accessing help: What 
 are some of the unseen barriers preventing men from getting support and ho
 w can we collectively dismantle them?\n 	Childhood Challenges: What is the
  relationship between certain challenges in childhood and men’s suicide 
 risk?\n 	Practical Support: How can we better support men in crisis\, incl
 uding addressing the empathy gap in how society understands and responds t
 o men’s pain?\n\nDr Bennett will be joined by a panel of community exper
 ts and health professionals who work with men who are suicidal. They will 
 share insights on effective strategies and necessary changes to better sup
