DESCRIPTION:OHID London are hosting an expert-led presentation and discuss
 ion on Planning and Health. The planning system is a legal determinant of
  health. Planning policies (national and local) and the planning decision-
 making process play a key role in shaping the kind of environment people a
 ccess on a daily basis. This session focuses on the food environment and h
 ow the planning system (policy and decision-making) can help promote a hea
 lthy weight environment. It will illustrate the planning system in action 
 with a particular highlight of how successful and unsuccessful local autho
 rities have been in introducing planning policies\, and in defending again
 st planning appeals for less healthy food and wider retail outlets.\n\nBoo
