DESCRIPTION:Join us for an expert-led presentation and discussion on Planni
 ng and Health.\n\nThe planning system is a legal determinant of health. Pl
 anning policies (national and local) and the planning decision-making proc
 ess play a key role in shaping the kind of environment people access on a 
 daily basis.\n\nThis session focuses on the food environment and how the p
 lanning system (policy and decision-making) can help promote a healthy wei
 ght environment. It will illustrate the planning system in action with a p
 articular highlight of how successful and unsuccessful local authorities h
 ave been in introducing planning policies\, and in defending against plann
 ing appeals for less healthy food and wider retail outlets.\n\nMichael Cha
 ng\, Planning and Health Programme Manager from the Housing\, Planning and
