SUMMARY:LBTH: How Public Health\, Planning and Regeneration teams can work 
 together to create healthy environments
DESCRIPTION:About this in-person Tower Hamlets Workshop and Walking Tour:\n
 The London Borough of Tower Hamlets invites you to join a walking tour of 
 the Isle of Dogs and find out how the Public Health team work closely with
  Planning and Regeneration colleagues to support the health and wellbeing 
 of those living and working in the area.\n\nThe Isle of Dogs is undergoing
  transformational change. Several large sites in the area are under constr
 uction\, with many more sites allocated for regeneration in the Local Plan
 . Much of the isle is in areas of open space deficiency. The area is a pla
 ce of contrasts: home to the financial district of Canary Wharf\, as well 
 as large social housing estates.\n\nThe unique challenges of managing deve
 lopment in this area have required cross-divisional working within the bor
 ough to ensure the health and wellbeing of residents (both new and existin
 g) is protected during the process. We will hear from planning\, regenerat
 ion\, and public health colleagues on their work in this area and see firs
 t-hand the challenges and opportunities of the area during a walking tour.
  We will also hear more about the approach that Tower Hamlets Public Healt
 h team have taken to achieve healthier environments more widely and the le
 arning they have experienced to date.\n\nThe primary aims of the day are f
 or participants to learn about partnership approaches to influence the bui
 lt and natural environment to achieve better health and wellbeing outcomes
 \; and to build capacity and knowledge in urban design and planning concep
 ts. Please join the workshop and tour to hear about the approach taken at 
 Tower Hamlets.\n\nPlease note there are 30 spaces available and we will tr
 y to ensure all boroughs that wish to attend have at least one space if ov
