The ADPH first came into existence in 1856, and was chaired by the first Chief Medical Officer, Sir John Simon. We celebrated our 150th anniversary in 2006 and the four Chief Medical Officers from across the UK agreed to speak at our conference which explored the role of the DPH across the UK, both now and in the future.
