DPH Annual Report Competition previous winners
DPH Annual Report competition 2010 - Results
This year we were looking for added value over and above needs assessment. Nearly all entries had recommendations and progress reports on previous years. Presentations were made at the ADPH Annual Conference. The results are:
1st prize: Sandwell - for bringing us back to the DPH advocacy role
2nd prize: Suffolk - for a comprehensive but easy to read report on mental health
3rd prize: Sefton - for an excellent combination of words and data
runners up were Sheffield, and Heart of Birmingham.
DPH Annual Report competition 2009 - Results
This year we were looking for leadership - more than just a needs assessment - so good clear recommendations were important. The results are:
1st prize: NHS Sheffield - see the full report on their website
2nd prize: Camden PCT - read Closing Time
3rd prize: Portsmouth City tPCT - read the full report and the newspaper sent to every household
runners up were Derbyshire County, Jersey and North Yorkshire and York.
DPH Annual Report competition 2008 - Results
The best entries this year were of a very high standard with a real attempt at producing a report fit for both the professional to use and the public to read. The results are:
1st prize: Wakefield District PCT - read the topic sheets and the health profile
2nd prize: Sheffield PCT - see the interactive version and the hard copy
3rd prize: States of Jersey - read the report on their web-site
Runners up were Gloucestershire PCT and Portsmouth teaching PCT
DPH Annual Report competition 2007
This year the Panel expected joint work with Local Authorities and links with Local Area Agreements. A continuing emphasis on improving Health Inequalities also scored highly, particularly if backed up by evidence from Health Equity Audit. As usual the reports had to be innovative, readable and relevant to both professionals and the public.
1st prize: Sheffield PCT - read their web-based report
2nd prize: Portsmouth City teaching PCT - read the report on their website
and the more widely available newspaper on their website
3rd prize: Hull PCT - read the report on their website
Runners up were Suffolk PCT and Leeds PCT
DPH Annual Report competition 2006
Derbyshire Dales & South Derbyshire PCT scooped the top honours in this year's competition for the best Public Health Annual Report for 2005. The top three places were announced at the ADPH conference in April. (Please note that as these are large files they may take some time to download.)
- 1st Prize: Derbyshire Dales & South Derbyshire PCT and annual report calendar
- 2nd Prize: Eastern Wakefield PCT and public health profile
- 3rd Prize: Milton Keynes PCT
Runners up were Eastern Leicester and Leicester City West PCT and West Hull and Eastern Hull PCT.
Judges were asked to assess the reports using the standards set down by the Faculty of Public Health with particular attention to joint working with Local Authorities and links with LSPs and Local Area Agreements. A continuing emphasis on improving health inequalities also scored highly, particularly if backed up by evidence from a health equity audit. Reports had to be innovative, readable, and relevant to both professionals and public.
DPH Annual Report competition 2005
The winners of the 2005 competition for the best Publich Health Annual Reports for 2004/5 were announced at the Annual Faculty of Public Health conference in June.
1st Prize: Halton PCT (read the foreword to the report)
2nd Prize: Chanrwood and North West Leicestershire PCT
3rd Prize: Milton Keynes PCT (read the report on their website)
The runners up were North Sheffield PCT and South Tyneside PCT.
