ADPH Submission to the Welsh Consultation on Smoke- Free Private Vehicles Carrying Children Under 18
ADPH has submitted a response to the Welsh government’s consultation. Based on our submission to the Department of Health Consultation on smoking in private vehicles carrying children, our response incorporates the following points:
- Support for the draft proposals and the ban on smoking in private vehicles carrying children, which will be crucial in protecting children from the harm caused by exposure to second-hand smoke in cars.
- Endorsement for the proposals to be formally reviewed two years after they are first implemented.
- Endorsement for the Department of Health and Public Health Wales to both invest and collaborate on a series of major advertising and social marketing awareness raising campaigns both immediately before and after the proposals come into force.
